Chicken fried steak is sub-par, instant mashed potatoes & packaged white gravy. Wanted a steak but no baked potatoes until after 5PM. We arrived & 3PM on a Sunday.
We like Bruff's once in awhile. Way better than the average fried food place. I've tried the steaks and their a good deal even though they're in a true historical beef town with higher standards than most places for beef.
Food was good for a sports bar and grill. Very noisy, but it's what you get on Sunday night football. Good service. Good place to stop while traveling.
As with anything, you get less quality but charge you more. 7 bucks for mushrooms, 3 bucks for chips and tomato sauce (literally only flavored sauce), a turkey wrap that was made a salad rolled into a wrap. For 8 bucks there should be real turkey. Steals are 28 bucks and anything else is 2-4 bucks higher than what it should be. With 14 girls walking around, it’s clear they only care about pushing food out and collecting. Customers would be willing to pay more if you give them more to account for the price. Instead of using processed lunch meat, use actual turkey. Instead of flavored tomato Sauce use actual tomatoes and real ingredients. Giving customers quality food should be their top priority but it’s not. It’s a sports bar and at over priced!
I think the "Steakhouse" term on their sign makes people expect a higher caliber of food. Bruff's is a bar and grill, with average bar-and-grill food. The chicken fried steak is consistently good, and their burgers are better than average. Not a huge beer selection.
